Movimento Project: Unscripted 2026 Dance Workshops
Wellfleet Preservation Hall
UNSCRIPTED is a six-week workshop series for people who are interested in exploring their own moving body as an aesthetic experience and as art.
Participants will be guided through individual and collective processes of body and movement attention and creative exploration, into the structuring of personal and innovative dance art.
Individual levels of experience will provide the base for each participant’s exploration, offering paths ahead for interested beginner to advanced artists. The atmosphere will be one of positivity, creativity, diversity, and a celebration of each participant’s body, movement and artistic potential.
Contemporary dance is an inclusive, celebratory medium, focusing the choreographic eye to movement of all types of bodies, in new spaces, with new thematic goals, soundtracks, etc.
The workshop series will be facilitated by Leda Muhana and Dave Iannitelli, who bring more than 50 years combined experience in coaching, motivating and fine-tuning contemporary dance-making.
These Movimento Project workshops are supported by grants from the Wellfleet, Orleans and Harwich Cultural Councils.

BOB DYLAN, JOHNNY CASH, AND THE FORGING OF AMERICAN MUSIC WITH MATT YORK
Wellfleet Public Library
Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan's mutual admiration and collaborating in the 1960s melded two styles of music that were, for the most part, stand alone entities: folk and country. Nowadays, we describe music that combines country and folk as Americana music, but that genre didn't exist back then. Dylan's 1969 album Nashville Skyline and appearance on the premiere of The Johnny Cash Show on ABC introduced him to a much twangier audience. Similarly, Cash's covering of a few Dylan songs and performing at the Newport Folk Festival opened the ears of many fans of folk music. Boston-based musician Matt York's latest concert program will use both songs and stories to illustrate the importance of these two titans of music.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wellfleet Local Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
In Concert: The Lariats
Wellfleet Public Library
Come along on a musical journey through Lost Legends of Country Music, a program that features songs and stories of forgotten country artists. The Lariats - Jo Miller and Joel sklar - play the heartfelt melodies and share the colorful legends of the musicians and folk heroes whose voices once echoed through roadside honky-tonks and country radio airwaves. From ballads of lost love to foot-stomping sing-alongs, you'll hear songs from artists who shaped the golden age of country!
