Wellfleet Cultural District
In 2017, the Downtown and Marina sections of Wellfleet had the distinct honor of being named a MA Cultural District, joining only 50 other areas in the entire state with this designation. Creating a geographic cultural “Loop”, this distinction honors our town’s unique ability to blend our rich cultural scene with our historic aquaculture industries. The Cultural Loop encompasses many of Wellfleet’s galleries, cultural and historical institutions, craft and designer stores, our working harbor and marina, restaurants, and much more. Although not administered by the Cultural Council directly, the Wellfleet Cultural District shares many of the same volunteers, goals, and values of its sibling group: promoting, celebrating and supporting the culture makers in our beautiful town. Both are supported and admistered by Mass Cultural.
